John Y. Kim is the 2007 Star of Hope Honoree for JDRF’s North Central Connecticut and Western Massachusetts Chapter’s 2007 Promise Ball.
Kim is president of Prudential Retirement in Hartford. Prior to joining Prudential in 2004, Kim was
president of CIGNA Retirement & Investment Services. He also held chief executive and senior
management positions at some of the nation’s leading financial services companies, including
BondBook LLC, Aeltus Investment Management, Mitchell Hutchins Institutional Investors and Aetna
Life & Casualty.
Kim is a chartered financial analyst and a member of the New York Society of Security Analysts, the Hartford Society of Security Analysts, and the Association of Investment Management and Research.
He holds NASD Series 7 and 24 credentials. Kim has a master’s in business administration in finance from the University of Connecticut, and a bachelor's in business administration in finance and
accounting from the University of Michigan. He lives in Farmington.
